Description

One bite of this Mediterranean burger will take you right to a taverna by the sea. Enjoy with a traditional Greek salad and your taste buds will scream Opa!

Ingredients

Scale

1 1/2 lbs. ground Ontario Lamb

1/2g medium inion, finely minced

1 tbsp. Dijon mustard

1.4 cup copped fresh mint

2tsp. Chopped fresh oregano

1.2 tsp each of salt and pepper

4 hamburger buns

Garnish with tzatziki, crumbled feta, thinly sliced red onion, olive slices, lettuce, cucumber slices and tomatoes.

Instructions

In a large bowl, use fork to gently combine the lamb, onion, Dijon, parsley, mint,

oregano, salt and pepper. Gently form into four 1-inch (2.5 cm) thick patties.

Heat grill to high. Place the patties on the hottest part of the grill and sear until browned; 1 to 2 minutes per side. Move the patties to the cooler part of the grill and continue grilling until desired doneness, 4 to 8 minutes per side.

Place burger on spilt bun and garnish as desired.

Notes

Note: This recipe can also be made by removing the fresh mint and adding fresh basil and topping with regular hamburger toppings.
